The Culture Makers
The “Culture Makers” exhibition, grant-aided through Waterford Cultural Quarter Open Call presents in 3 large paintings and one augmented reality sculpture, black Irish – African women as cultural protagonists and stakeholders within the new Waterford Cultural Quarter.
The project aims to build on the positive momentum provided by Africa Day in Waterford Cultural Quarter and is the result of the painting residency by artist Fintan O’Byrne in 44 The Quay, sponsored by Artform School of Art Dunmore East.
After this exhibition, all 3 paintings will be donated to public collections in Waterford city thereby becoming part of the indelible and inclusive fingerprint of the Cultural Quarter.
On display in the Granary in Hanover Street from 18 October. Opening event Thu 17 October 6pm.
