Thinking Outside the Box – Kam Bo
In February 2021, Waterford Cultural Quarter released a call for Expressions of Interest for local Waterford based artists to submit ideas to to transform the Quarter’s metal utility boxes, bins and litter boxes into artistic interventions. We received some fantastic proposals and artists have been appointed to commence work on this initiative.
We are delighted to introduce to you the work of our first artist – Kam Bo.
Kam Bo was born in Lithuania and she graduated from Kaunas Gymnasium of Arts where she trained in working with traditional art techniques. Kam studied Multimedia and Creative Media focusing on 3D Games Development at BIFE (Bray Institute of Further Education) in Bray, Co.Wicklow, Ireland.
Kam moved to Waterford in 2019, where she has worked on many projects, this is her first project with Waterford Cultural Quarter and we are really looking forward to partnering with Kam on future projects.
If you get a chance to take a look at some of Kam’s work in the Cultural Quarter over the weekend her first three installations are on Gladstone Street, the corner of Hanover Street and O’Connell Street and on Thomas Hill.
