What a wonderful day at the Thomas Street Pocket Park Sneak Peek! The sun was shining, the smiles were wide, and the community spirit was alive. Local families, residents, and kids of all ages joined us for a day full of creativity, colour, and connection.
Waterford Walls ran a brilliant wall-spraying workshop, and everyone had the chance to get creative with chalk art on the walls! Face painting, balloons, and loads of fun kept the little ones (and the grown-ups!) busy all afternoon.
Information stalls showcased the exciting proposed plans for the Thomas Street Art House and Pocket Park — one of the many amazing projects led by Waterford Culture Quarter and Waterford City & County Council. Our aim was to engage with local residents, share the proposed plan for the space, and celebrate this new initiative that will help bring the city centre to life again — creating vibrant public spaces, an urban vibe, and a more liveable, fun, and safe Waterford for everyone to enjoy, live, and work in.
A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers from Waterford New Communities Network and the new recruits from the Waterford Volunteer Centre who helped make the day such a success. Special thanks also to Active Cities, Healthy Waterford, Playful Communities, Sláintecare Healthy Communities, and Waterford Area Partnership for their fantastic support in making this day possible. This is just the beginning — we can’t wait to see the Pocket Park grow into a welcoming and thriving space for all!
