The countdown is on and St. Patrick’s Festival programming kicks off this Friday. The 5-Day event will bring performances, carnivals, craic agus ceol right through the Bank Holiday weekend.
FREE events on O’Connell St in the heart of the Cultural Quarter include Celtic Copper Craft workshops on Sat & Sun in WCQ Place and a full 5-day line-up of live Music on WCQ Stage.
While you are visiting WCQ’s O’Connell Street be sure to stop off at Tully’s or Mahers for a drink and The Phoenix Yard and Eskimo Pizza for food. If you are lucky you may also be able to secure a table at Mara for some fine dining.
Check if Garter Lane and Waterford Gallery of Art are open to take in some culture in the current beautiful exhibitions, free entry at both venues.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade: The theme for this year’s parade is ‘Waterford; Where St. Patrick’s Day Began’ and will begin at 1pm sharp on St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday 17 March, starting at Waterford Bus Station and proceeding along the Quay, finishing on The Mall.
